Pepco files for D.C. rate increase

Pepco on Friday requested the D.C. Public Service Commission's approval of a $52.1 million rate increase for its District customers, the company announced.The rate bump to Pepco's distribution charge, if approved, would mean an average $5.89 increase, or 6.23 percent, per month for a typical residential customer who use 750 kilowatt hours.Thomas Graham, Pepco region president, said the proposed hike is meant to recover the "significant investments" that the utility has made to improve reliability…
